Entrepreneurship summit 2017 Delhi Technological University.

Entrepreneurship summit 2017 aimed to advocate the ideas of Entrepreneurship by inspiring more and more students to take up entrepreneurship as a career. Delhi Technological University aims at helping the budding engineers of the institution realize their dreams of establishing their own start-ups and for this Entrepreneurship Development Cell was started and helped the students in conceptualizing and executing their plans by fine-tuning their strategy and bring them on platform where they can interact with the industry and hence further hone their enterprising skills.

This year Electrical Engineering Department of Delhi Technological University Organised Entrepreneurship summit 2017 from 24th to 26th February 2017 hosting various Speaker Sessions, Workshops, Innovative Games, Competitions for aspiring and visionary Entrepreneurs and support them by providing necessary resources such as seed Funding, Mentoring, Consultancy and Networking etc. followed by Start-up Internship Fair.

This year some speakers shared their experience with the students of Delhi Technological University.  

The first speaker of the day was Mr. Mridul Kumar, Joint Secretary Gulf region with the Ministry of External Affairs. An alumnus of prestigious institutes like Oxford University, IIM Bangalore and Delhi College of Engineering, started the talk and told his experience and challenges he faced when he was given the task in evacuating Indian nationals from Iraq and Yemen. Mr. Kumar is one of the few Indians who has had the opportunity of being a part of Indian expedition to isolated Antarctica.  

The second speaker of the day was Dr. Ajay Kumar, an IIT Kanpur alumnus, also he is the Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Electronics and IT, Government of India. Prior to this, he served for almost three decades in the state government of Kerala, where he steered a number of industrial and technological initiatives in different departments.  Dr. Ajay Kumar is credited with guiding the restructuring of several state public undertakings, and mostly, for putting Kerala firmly on the path to e-governance, citizen empowerment, and full Internet connectivity.

The third speaker of the day was Mr. Sandeep Aggarwal, popularly known as the father of marketplaces in India. Mr. Sandeep Agarwal has founded two marketplaces in India so far shop-clues which is Indias first managed online marketplace in 2011 and droom, which is Indias first marketplace for automobiles in 2014.  He is counted amongst the leading Internet experts globally and has regularly appeared on CNBC, Fox, ABC News and regularly quoted by the Wall Street Journal, Fortune, Forbes and other prominent media outlets. He likes to contribute his bit for digital India, start-up, entrepreneurialism, and fundraising. In his speech he told the students that he was always an average student in his college days but he had a passion towards his work and he always wanted to be an Entrepreneur so he left his job came to India with an idea and with his contacts and Hard work founded shop-clues Indias first managed online marketplace in 2011and later on Droom Indias first marketplace for automobiles in 2014. In the end, he said "When Shop-Clues was started, it was the 35th entrant in the e-commerce arena. Today, it is ranked as the 4th largest portal in India. It is the trust that you have in your enterprise that decides its success."

Day 2 of Entrepreneurship summit 2017 aimed to enhance the knowledge of start-up enthusiasts and provide them a cognitive learning experience through conducting workshop sessions like Zero Budget Marketing – Learn the coolest and the wackiest marketing techniques to help your start-up fly high. Know all about Social Media Marketing, email marketing, PR initiatives, 360-degree marketing suite, how to get your first Customers and drive Sales and much more such exciting and insightful concepts. The workshop was taken forward by Speakers like Mrs. Ridhima Kapoor, Digital Marketing Manager, Gameloft Flowed by Mr. Srijan Bhardwaj, Founder, Blisstro Publishing and co-authored of many books flowed by Mr. Ankit Jain, Founder, My Operator flowed by Mr. Raghav Shekher, Co-founder, Lawyered and Mrs. Avani Parekh, Community Head, Sheroes

Day 3, While Hiring, is by far the biggest challenges faced by start-ups and ironically the least addressed start-ups are searching for talented individuals, students face problems securing internships that provide experience and creative development.  Entrepreneurship-Cell of DTU provides the perfect synergy, bringing opportunity to your doorsteps on day 3 by Introducing Start-up Internship Fair17, a common platform for hiring start-ups and students looking to experience the competitive and challenging world of start-up and Walk in interviews with no other pre-requisites, a chance like never before. Many Start-ups got a chance to interact and hired many students through Speed Interview, and got the best talent for their start-up. Students interact with start-ups and many students got a chance for Internship with them.
